| As
an au pair your main responsibility will be to look after and care for the family's
child(ren). It is important that you have had previous experience with children,
and are comfortable being left to care for them. Duties
might include any of the following: | |
- Taking
the children to and from school/nursery. You
may be asked to drive children to and from school. If you say you
are prepared to do this, you must be a
confident driver with a clean driving license;

Organising
and running activities for the children (for example: painting, reading, going
to the park). [More ideas are suggested in your Starter Pack.];

Preparing
the children's meals (for example: lunches for school, or evening meals);

Looking
after younger children (you should specify on your application which age groups
you are comfortable with looking after); -
between
five and seven hours
of work per day (5-day week); -
two
to three evenings babysitting (one of which can be at the week-end. | |
| You
can also be expected to do some light housework (ironing, children's laundry,
cleaning). You
will be entitled to the following "perks": |

enough
free time to study or pursue other interests; -
your
own room (which you must keep clean and tidy); - free
