| $118.46-$157.95

The amount depends on your Type of Au Pair, and is set by the US Department of State. This is the equivalent to "pocket money" in European au pair programmes. |
$500-$1000 educational stipend
Again, the amount depends on your Type of Au Pair. You can take a range of approved courses while in the US, however you must take an approved course as part of the programme. |
Round trip international flight
Your international flight cost is covered by the Au Pair Programme and the host family. (The only part that you must pay is the return leg of your US domestic flight (i.e. from the airport nearest your host family to the international gateway airport in the US).) |
Travel insurance

This Programme holds a generous travel insurance policy. For more details click here. |
Child developement course
Your first few days in the US will be spent with other au pairs in California taking this course. The course leads to the American Red Cross Infant and Adult CPR certification. |
Support throughout your stay
Your Community Representative (CR) will accompany you throughout the program year and will assist you with your needs. S/he will provide guidelines, organize cultural activities, and assist you with any problems that may arise. |
Extend your stay by 1 month and see the rest of US!
You have the option of remaining in the United States at the end of the program year for one month. This is referred to as the 13th month grace period. The Au Pair can take advantage of this grace period to travel in the United States, and Au Pair Foundation will issue the return ticket up to 30 days after the date of expiration on the J-1 visa. |
