FOR THE UK

These are the visa requirements for the UK*

1. EU Nationals can enter the UK without any formalities.  A valid passport or identity card is all that is needed. [Note however, that if you plan to take the au pair on holiday with you outside the EU, please check with the travel agent.]

2. Members of the Commonwealth will need to obtain a visa under the 'working holidaymaker' scheme.  For more information about this scheme, see leaflet INF11. As the family, you will be asked by us to write a letter of sponsorship for the candidate. (We can advise you of the contents of this letter.)

3. Nationals of the following countries can enter the UK under the au pair scheme (maximum 2 years), if they are between 17 - 27 years old inclusive.

Andorra,  Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Monaco, Poland, San Marino, Slovenia, and Switzerland

They only need to produce their invitation letter from the family or agency on entry into the UK.

4. Nationals of the following countries can enter the UK on an au pair visa (maximum 2 years), if they are 17 - 27 years old inclusive but  need to obtain a visa prior to travelling to the UK:

Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, the Slovak Republic  and Turkey.

*Please be assured that we will assist the au pair in the visa process.
